FAQs
What makes rePurpose.space ("RPS") unique?
rePurpose.space (“RPS”) is a social publishing and community platform that provides a central place for people to share and discuss before-and-after transformation stories that repurpose materials, spaces, habits, systems, and more.
What kind of “before-and-after” story fits here?
On our platform, a “before-and-after” story isn’t just about aesthetic change. It’s about transformation with purpose — we call this a rePurpose transformation. That means the shift from “before” to “after” should reflect meaningful intention, reuse or repurposing, sustainability, or a deeper shift in value, use, or mindset — not just a simple makeover.
What we mean by “RePurpose transformation”:
-
The “before” state shows something in its original or underused context (or a problem-state).
-
The “after” state shows how that thing was repurposed, given new value or life, used differently, or transformed intentionally with sustainability, functionality, or narrative at the core.
-
The story emphasizes why the transformation happened, how it was achieved (material, process, intention), and what new purpose it serves.
What doesn’t count (or counts less):
-
Purely aesthetic makeovers where the original object or context remains fundamentally the same purpose (e.g., “we painted the wall a new color”).
-
Generic “before vs after” photos without any backstory or intention behind the change.
-
Paid advertising-style “before/after” where the transformation is primarily about selling something rather than re-using, re-imagining, or re-purposeing.

Do I need Before/After photos to post a transformation story?
They’re encouraged because they tell a powerful visual story—but they’re not required. A thoughtful description or idea alone is welcome.
Do I have to be the creator of a transformation to post my story?
Not at all! You don’t have to be the creator. Stories are welcome whether you’ve created, experienced, or discovered the transformation.
If it moved you, taught you something, or deserves to be seen, it belongs here.
Why can’t I access private forums yet?
Private forums are for creators who publish their own rePurpose stories. Once you post your first story, you become an Author, and those spaces open up for you.
