Turning Plastic Bottles Into a Backyard Vertical Garden

BEFORE

Every week, our family went through dozens of plastic bottles — water, soda, juice — and most of them ended up in the trash. I wanted to reduce our waste but didn’t know how until I learned about vertical gardening.

AFTER

Now, our backyard wall is lined with repurposed plastic bottles, each cut and filled with soil, growing herbs, lettuce, and strawberries. It’s an eye-catching vertical garden that helps us reduce waste, grow food, and spark conversations with neighbors.
